NOTIFICATION

GUJARAT TOWN PLANNING & URBAN DEVELOPMENT ACT, 1976.

No.GH/V/212 of 2025/UHUHD/MSM/e-file/18/2025/0146/L : WHEREAS, the State Government in Urban Development And Urban Housing Department by Notification No. KV-20 of 2025-UDUHD/COC/e-file/18/2024/ 5957/P dated 01.01.2025 constituted the Municipal Corporation of the city of Surendranagar comprising the larger urban area as specified in the Urban Development And Urban Housing Department Notification No. KV-19 of 2025- UDUHD/COC/e-file/18/ 2024/5957/P dated 01.01.2025 under the provision of Gujarat Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949 (Bom.LIX of 1949);

270-1270-2 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, EX., 23-06-2025 [ PART IV-B AND WHEREAS, under Government Notification, Urban Development and Urban Housing Department No.GH/V/141 of 2012/UDA-282011-M-269-L dated 28.08.2012, under sub-section (1), (2), (2A) of section 22, sub-section 3 of section 23 of the Gujarat Town Planning & Urban Development Act, 1976 (President's Act No.27 of 1976) (hereinafter referred as "the said Act") declared the urban development area, amalgamated the areas and constituted the Surendranagar-Wadhwan Urban Development Authority (hereinafter referred as "the said Authority");

AND WHEREAS, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2A) of section 22 of the said Act, the Government of Gujarat by Notification No.GH/V/180 of 2016/DVP-282016-1305-L, dated 17.10.2016 excluded the area mentioned in this notification from the urban development area of the said Authority;

AND WHEREAS, the Government of Gujarat is of opinion that it is necessary in the public interest that the objective of proper development or redevelopment of the areas within the jurisdiction of the villages specified in column (4) of the SCHEDULE appended hereto will be best served by including it within the urban development area of Surendranagar- Wadhwan Urban Development Authority;

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1), (2), (2A) of Section-22 of the Act, 1976 the Government of Gujarat hereby:-

1. declares the areas as specified in column 4 of the said SCHEDULE to be an urban development area;

2. include and amalgamate the said urban development areas in the urban development area of Surendranagar- Wadhwan Urban Development Authority, under sub-section (2A) of Section-22of the said Act;

3. reconstitutes the authority for the said amalgamated urban development area to be called "Surendranagar-Wadhwan Urban Development Authority" which shall consist of the following members, namely:-

4. directs the Surendranagar-Wadhwan Urban Development Authority to prepare and publish a draft development plan for the areas included within its jurisdiction for which there is no Development Plan as of now, within three months from the date of this notification or within such time as the State Government may, from time to time, extend under section 18 of the said Act and to further undertake the exercise for submitting this Draft Development Plan to the State Government as per the statutory provision.
