NOTIFICATION

Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, 31st December, 2025

GUJARAT MUNICIPALITIES ACT, 1963.

No. KV/407 of 2025/UDUHD/mea/e-file/18/2025/6774/M Section:- WHEREAS in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (2) of Article 243Q and clause (d) of Article 243P of the Constitution of India, the Government of Gujarat, vide Government Notification, Urban Development and Urban Housing Department No.: GV/392 of 2025/UDUHD/ mea/e-file/18/2025/6774/M Section, dated the 15th December, 2025, has included certain areas in the existing local limits of the Kalol Municipality.

AND WHEREAS the number of Wards and Seats of Councillors and number of seats to be reserved for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and Women are required to be ascertained in accordance with the figures of the population of the areas of the Kalol Municipality as declared on the basis of Census-2011 as also in view of the provisions of sections 6 and 7 of the Gujarat Municipalities Act, 1963; 185-1 I-A Ex.-¹⁸⁵ 185-2 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, EX., 31-12-2025 [ PART I-A NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 7 and sub-sections (2) and (3) of section 6 of the Gujarat Municipalities Act, 1963 (Guj. 34 of 1964), and in supersession of Government Notification,

Urban Development and Urban Housing Department No.: KV/157 of 2024/UDUHD/mwd/e-file/18/2024/ 3057/M, dated the 17th August, 2024, the Government of Gujarat hereby determines, as follows, namely:-

(1) The areas of the Kalol Municipality shall be divided into 11 Wards and the Municipality shall consist of 44 Councillors:

(2) Out of the 44 seats of Councillors, -

(i) 6 seats shall be reserved for the persons belonging to the Scheduled Castes, out of which 3 seats shall be reserved for the woman belonging to the Scheduled Castes;

(ii) 1 seat shall be reserved for the persons belonging to the Scheduled Tribes;

(iii) 12 seats shall be reserved for the persons belonging to the Backward Classes, out of which 6 seats shall be reserved for the women belonging to the Backward Classes;

(iv) 22 seats shall be reserved for the women (including the number of seats reserved for women belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Backward Classes) referred to above.

Saving: Nothing Contained in this notification shall affect anything done in respect of the determination of wards and seats of the Kalol Municipality, prior to the commencement of this notification.
