PART IV-C

Statutory Rules and Orders (Other than those published in Parts I, I-A and I-L)

made by Statutory Authorities other than the Government of Gujarat

including those made by the Government of India, the High Courts, the

Director of Municipalities, the Commissioner of Police, the Director of

Prohibition and Excise, the District Magistrates and the Election

Commission, Election Tribunals, Returning Officers and other

authorities under the Election Commission.

BY THE HIGH COURT OF GUJARAT AT AHMEDABAD

NOTIFICATION

No.C.2002/93

The Honourable the Chief Justice and Judges of this High Court have been pleased to make the following amendments in The Gujarat High Court Rules, 1993 :-

1. Short title and commencement:-

(i) These rules shall be called "The Gujarat High Court (Amendment) Rules, 2025." (No.3 of 2025).

(ii) They shall come into force with effect from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

5-15-2 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE EX., 02-01-2026 [ PART IV-C 2. Insert the following as Rule 50A after the existing Rule 50, under Chapter-IV :

"50A. Listing of Office Objection (Filing) and

➢ Registered matters :-

All Civil and Criminal side matters having Office Objections (Filing) shall be listed before the Registrar

(Judicial)/Additional Registrar (Judicial), as the case may be and Registered matters shall be listed before

the concerned Honourable Court, in accordance with the listing methodology issued by the High Court of

Gujarat from time to time."

3. Insert the following as Rule 51A after the existing Rule 51, under Chapter-IV :

" 51A. Tagging/De-tagging and part-heard matter :-

(i) Without Judicial order of the concerned Court, no matter shall be (1) tagged/de-tagged on any ground

with another matter, (2) treated as part-heard and (3) transferred from one Honourable Court to

another Honourable Court. Any note/application filed by the learned Advocate or party-in-person for

the above purpose shall not be entertained by the Registry and same shall be filed by the Assistant

Registrar/Deputy Registrar of the concerned Branch.

(ii) At pre-Admission stage, no matter shall be kept as part-heard."

4. Insert the following words after the word "authorise." in Rule 333, under Chapter – XXVI, CRIMINAL BUSINESS ;

"Initially Filing number shall be given to all Criminal (Main) matters. However, if there is no office

objection, Registration number shall be given to the matter."

5. Following amendments are carried out in "The Gujarat High Court Rules, 1993" :-
