No. BCG/EL/6/2026: It is hereby notified under Rule 6 of the rules framed by the Bar Council of Gujarat under section 15 (2) (a) & (d) approved by the Bar Council of India and Rule 3 of Part-IX of Bar Council of India rules framed under Union of India & Anr., the Election of 23 Members of the Bar Council of Gujarat will be held on Friday, the 6th March, 2026, as per the following schedule:-

# The Rules provides of this # programme and the same has been provided in compliance with Rules (6) Bar Council of Gujarat Election Rules.
## In view of the letter dated 23/12/2025 of the Bar Council of India, which states that as the strength of Bar Council of Gujarat is 25, 7 seats comprising 5 seats to be filled up through election and 2 seats through co-option by the Bar Council of India. In these circumstances, there will be election of only 23 members of Bar Council of Gujarat, out of which, 5 seats of women would be represented by elected members.

Note:
1. The prescribed nomination form can be obtained from the office No.A-102, Bar Council of Gujarat office, Satyamev Complex, Opp. High Court of Gujarat, Sola, Ahmedabad on payment of cost of Rs. 300/- each by way of cash.
2. The Nomination paper shall be delivered to the Returning Officers either personally or through an agent or sent by Registered post at the office No. A-102, Bar Council of Gujarat office, Satyamev Complex, Opp. High Court of Gujarat, Sola, Ahmedabad so as to reach the Returning Officers at the Bar Council of Gujarat Office on or before 07/02/2026 (Saturday) before 5.00 p.m.
3. Every Nomination paper shall be accompanied by non-refundable sum of Rs. 1,25,000/- (Rupees One Lac Twenty Five Thousand only) by way of Demand Draft (drawn in favour of "Bar Council of Gujarat Election Provision Fund") or through RTGS/NEFT so as to reach on or before 07/02/2026 (Saturday) before 5.00 p.m.; as per the letter dated 25/09/2025 of the Bar Council of India.
4. The relevant documents, more particularly, Orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated 18/11/2025 and 08/12/2025 and also the letters of Bar Council of India dated 25/09/2025 as well as the minutes of the meeting of the High-Powered Election Supervisory Committee dated 06/12/2025 are displayed on the website of the Bar Council of Gujarat i.e. www.barcouncilofgujarat.org.
