NOTIFICATION
Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, 8th January, 2026
No. KV- 01 of 2026-AMN-202000-7122-P1 :- WHEREAS, it is reported by the Municipal Commissioner, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service of the City of Ahmedabad likely to resort to strike;
AND WHEREAS, the Government of Gujarat is of the opinion that the stoppage or the cessation of the performance of any of the essential service mentioned in class I, II and III in chapter IV of Schedule-A of the Gujarat Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act") will be prejudicial to the safety of the maintenance of such services essential to the life of the community in the City of Ahmedabad.
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 62 of the said Act, Government of Gujarat hereby 2-2 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, EX., 08-01-2026 [ PART I-A (c) Withdraw or absent himself from his duties except in the case of illness or accident disabling him from the discharge of his duties or, (d) Neglect or refuse to perform his duties or wilfully perform them in a manner which in the opinion of the Municipal Commissioner of the City of Ahmedabad and Transport Manager of Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service is inefficient.
