No. Elec-2018/IR-II/PSCE/Hol/15644.— Whereas the General Elections of all the wards of 18 Municipal Committees (Annexure-A) and bye Elections of Ward No. 20 of Municipal Council, Thanesar (Kurukshetra) and Ward No. 04 of Municipal Committee, Assandh (Karnal) for which poll shall be held on 13.05.2018 (Sunday) as per notifications of the State Election Commission, Haryana issued vide notification No. SEC/1ME/2018/2846 dated 20.04.2018.
And whereas, it has been considered necessary to provide opportunity to the public to exercise their franchise.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the second proviso of sub-section (I) of section 10 of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958 (Punjab Act 15 of 1958) and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Haryana hereby fixes "Sunday" the 13.05.2018 to be close day (holiday) for all shops and commercial establishments falling in the jurisdiction of all the Wards of 18 Muncipal Committees (Annexure-A) and Ward No. 20 of Municipal Council, Thanesar (Kurukshetra) and Ward No. 04 of Municipal Committee, Assandh (Karnal) where the General Elections and bye elections respectively are going to be held on 13.05.2018 (Sunday) as per said notification, in the State of Haryana.
