Notification
The 16th August, 2018
No. SEC/4E-II/2018/1132.— Whereas, programme for the Bye elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions was issued vide Commission's Notifications No. SEC/4E-II/2018/1030 dated 08-08-2018. According to which nominations were to be filed between 17-08-2018 to 23-08-2018 and poll was to be held on 02-09-2018.
2. Whereas, the State Government vide its order No. 16/1/2003-2POL. dated 16-08-2018 has declared holiday on 17-08-2018 under Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 due to sudden demise of Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, former Prime Minister of India.
3. In view of the above the Commission has decided to reschedule the programme for by elections as given under:-

| 2. | Dates on which the list of Nomination papers received shall be pasted under rule 24(2)(ii). | 18-08-2018 to 24-08-2018 |
| 3. | Date by which Affidavit/Declaration shall be furnished by the candidate in Form 4-A & 4-B, to the concerned Returning Officer. (Rule 27). | 18-08-2018 to 24-08-2018 |
| 4. | Date on which the nomination papers shall be scrutinized under Rule 24 (2)(iii). | 25-08-2018 (10.00 A.M. onwards) |
| 5. | Last date for withdrawal of candidature by a candidate under Rule 24(2)(iv). | 27-08-2018 (upto 3.00 P.M.) |
| 6. | Date on which symbols shall be allotted to the contesting candidates. | 27-08-2018 (After 3.00 P.M.) |
| 7. | Date on which the list of contesting candidates shall be pasted under Rule 24(2)(v). | 27-08-2018 (immediately after the allotment of symbols) |
| 8. | Date on which the poll, if any, shall be held under Rule 24(2)(vi). | 04-09-2018 (Tuesday) |
| 9. | Timing of the poll. | Between 8.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M. |
| 10. | Counting of votes | (1) Immediately after the close of poll. (2) In case of re-poll, the commission may change the date and time of counting of votes. |
4. There shall be no change in the other instructions/directions issued under the notification mentioned above.
5. The Deputy Commissioners-cum-District Election Officers (P) shall inform the concerned Returning Officers and also give wide possible publicity of the above change.
