Notification

No. EE-IV/DULB/2021/8376.— In pursuance of the Guidelines issued by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India for setting up of Sanitation Response Unit (SRU) under an authority namely Responsible Sanitation Authority (RSA), to eliminate hazardous manual cleaning of sewers and septic tanks. The Deputy Commissioners of all the districts in the State of Haryana are hereby appointed as the Responsible Sanitation Authority (RSA) for the concerned district. RSA will be the over all in-charge of Sanitation Response Unit (SRU). The members of SRU for the concerned district shall be nominated by RSA from Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Urban Local Bodies (ULB), Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) and Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) etc. The main objective of the Sanitation Response Unit is to provide professional, well trained, motivated and appropriately equipped workforce for the cleaning, maintenance and management of sewers and septic tanks, thereby eliminating the deaths caused by entry of workers into sewers and septic tanks without proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), training and non-adherence to security protocols.
