Notification
The 28th October, 2022
No. SEC/2ME/2022/6844.— Whereas the State Election Commission, Haryana has issued schedule for preparation of electoral rolls of Municipal Councils, Thanesar and Sirsa vide notification No. SEC/2ME/2022/6772, dated 07.10.2022, according to which draft publication of electoral rolls was to be done on 18.10.2022, the last date for filing the claims and objections was prescribed as 22.10.2022 and the final publication was to be done on 14.11.2022.
2. Now, the Deputy Commissioner, Kurukshetra vide his memo No. 2544/LFA, dated 21.10.2022, has informed that the Revising Authority-cum-Sub Divisional Officer (C), Thanesar has submitted a report in his office according to which complaints were received from the former members of Municipal Councils and the prospective candidates for the coming municipal elections. He has also submitted that more time would be required for removing discrepancies and preparation of draft electoral roll beyond the schedule prescribed by the State Election Commission, Haryana. The Deputy Commissioner, Kurukshetra has also requested to issue the revised schedule for preparation of electoral rolls of Municipal Council, Thanesar.
3. In view of the request made by the Deputy Commissioner, Kurukshetra, the State Election Commission, Haryana, hereby directs to revise the schedule for preparation of electoral rolls of Municipal Council, Thanesar, as given under :-
| i. | Publication of draft electoral rolls of all the wards of Municipal Council, Thanesar for inviting claims and objections. [Rule-4(3)] | 02.11.2022 |
| ii. | Last date by which claims and objections shall be filed before the Revising Authority. [Rule-4(4)(i)] | 09.11.2022 |
| iii. | Last date by which the claims and objections shall be disposed of by the Revising Authority. [Rule-4 (4) (v)& (vii)] | 17.11.2022 |
| iv. | Last date for filing appeals before the Deputy Commissioner against the orders of Revising Authority. (Rule-4 (4) (viii)] | 22.11.2022 |
| v. | Last date for disposal of appeals by the Deputy Commissioner.[Rule 4(4) (viii)] | 29.11.2022 |
| vi. | Final publication of ward wise Electoral Rolls.(Rule-4 (4) (ix) | 05.12.2022 |
4. The Deputy Commissioner, Kurukshetra shall give wide publicity to the above programme.
5. The remaining instructions issued earlier by Notification No. SEC/2ME/2022/6772, dated 07.10.2022 shall remain unchanged.
6. The Deputy Commissioner, Kurukshetra shall also ensure that the electoral roll of Municipal Council, Thanesar is prepared as per the schedule given above since no further extension in time will be given.
