Notification
The 16th December, 2022
No. 9/51/2022-4CII.— In exercise of the powers conferred under clauses (b) and (c) of sub-section (1) of section 257 of the Haryana Municipal Act, 1973 (24 of 1973), and with reference to Haryana Government, Urban Local Bodies Department, notification No. 9/51/2022-4CII, dated the 14th November, 2022, the Governor of Haryana hereby makes the following rules, further to amend the Haryana Municipal Delimitation of Ward Rules, 1977 namely:-
1. These rules may be called the Haryana Municipal Delimitation of Ward (Amendment) Rules, 2022.
2. In the Haryana Municipal Delimitation of Ward Rules, 1977, for rule 3, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:-
"3. Fixation of seats of Committee.- (1) After every official census, the total number of seats of each committee shall be fixed by the State Government on the basis of the latest census figures.
(2) Where certain area is included or excluded from the limits of a committee or where certain areas comprising of rural areas or part thereof is declared to be a new committee under sections 2A and section 3 of the Haryana Municipal Act, 1973 (24 of 1973), for the purposes of ascertaining the population in respect of such area added to or excluded from or declared to be a new committee, the population as drawn from the family Information Data Repository established under the provisions of the Haryana Parivar Pehchan Act, 2021 (20 of 2021), on such date as may be notified by the State Government shall be considered for the purpose of fixation of seats of the committee.
(3) The number of seats to be filled by election on each committee shall be fixed or re-fixed in accordance with the following formula:-
