No. Elec-2024/IR-II/PSCE/Hol/23194.— As per letter no. 130 (Paid Holiday)/HVS Elec-2024/2AE-8822 dated 02.09.2024 of the Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana schedule of General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Haryana, 2024 has been revised and now the poll day is fixed for 05.10.2024 (Saturday).
Accordingly, earlier notification of the Labour Department issued vide no. Elec-2024/IR-II/PSCE/Hol/22418 dated 28.08.2024 is being withdrawn.
And now, to provide opportunity, to those who are working in the State of Haryana and enrolled as voter in the State of Haryana, to exercise their franchise. The Governor of Haryana, by exercising his powers conferred by Section 28 of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958 (Punjab Act 15 of 1958) and all other enabling powers, hereby fixes the 05.10.2024 "Saturday" to be the holiday with wages for all Shops and Commercial Establishments falling with the jurisdiction of the State of Haryana for only those who are enrolled as voters in the State of Haryana to enable them to cast their vote.
