Notification
The 28th July, 2026
No. SEC/1ME/2026/2804.— Whereas, name of Sh. Sanjay Kumar S/o Sh. Man Singh Goyal was notified as a President, Municipal Committee, Ateli Mandi, district Mahendergarh by the State Election Commission, Haryana upon his election held on 02.03.2025 vide notification No. SEC/1ME/2025/4313 dated 20.03.2025.
2. Whereas, lateron through election petition No. 01 of 2025 Sh. Bhupesh Kumar R/o Ward No. 4, Ateli Mandi challenged the election of Sh. Sanjay Kumar, President, Municipal Committee, Ateli Mandi (Respondent No. 1) on the ground that earlier he was removed by the State Government from the seat of Member (W. No. 4), Municipal Committee on 22.05.2020 after found him guilty of misconduct of absenting himself continuously from the meetings of the Committee under section 14 (1) (c) of the Haryana Municipal Act, 1973 and as such, under section 14 (2) of the act he was disqualified to contest election for a period of not exceeding 6 years.
3. Whereas, Election Tribunal, Narnaul on 09.07.2026 has decided the election petition and has passed the following orders:
"Order pronounced. Vide separate judgment of even date, petition of the petitioner is accepted with costs and it is hereby held that the election of respondent No. 1 to the office of President, Municipal Committee, Ateli Mandi, cannot be sustained in the eyes of law. Accordingly, the election of respondent No. 1 as the returned candidate for the office of President, Municipal Committee, Ateli Mandi is hereby declared null and void. However, in the absence of a specific prayer seeking declaration of the petitioner as the duly elected candidate and in view of the limited jurisdiction conferred upon this Tribunal under Section 272 of the Haryana Municipal Act, no further relief can be granted. The election petition stands partly allowed in the above terms. Memo of costs be prepared accordingly. File be consigned to the record room, after due compliance."
4. And whereas, in view of the orders dated 09.07.2026 passed by the Hun'ble Court i.e. Election Tribunal-cum-Civil Judge (Jr. Division), Narnaul, the State Election Commission, Haryana hereby denotified the name of Sh. Sanjay Kumar S/o Sh. Man Singh Goyal, President, Municipal Committee, Ateli Mandi from the official Gazette earlier notified by the State Election Commission, Haryana vide No. SEC/1ME/2025/4313 dated 20.03.2025.
