No. Ind-II (F) 6-18/2013.—In continuation to this department Notification of even no. dated 24.08.2014, the Governor, Himachal Pradesh is pleased to amend para no. 11.5 of the Himachal Pradesh Mineral Policy, 2013, in order to protect the interests of local people and to 194-राजपत्र/2014-23-12-2014 (5215) 5216 राजपत्र, हिमाचल प्रदेश, 23 दिसम्बर, 2014/2 पौष, 1936 improve employment opportunities in the State. The amended para no. 11.5 of Himachal Pradesh Mineral Policy, 2013 is as under:—

"After recommendations of the Committee, the area may be put to public auction for 10 to 15 years subject to condition that the every contractor in whose favour the bid is accepted by the competent authority as per H.P. Minor Minerals (Concession) Revised Rules, 1971 (as amended from time to time), shall work as per the general conditions of the policy as well as the site specific conditions imposed in the feasibility report and by the Sub- Divisional Committee. In order to protect the interests of local people and to improve employment opportunities through mining, the quarries having an area up-to 8 hectares may be reserved for the bonafide residents of State of Himachal Pradesh during the auction process."
