No. STE-F(2)-10/2009.—In continuation of this department notification No. STE-F(2)- 10/2009 dated 26-04-2011, The wetlands have important biodiversity values apart from direct consumptive use values for human and have important regulatory role in soil and water conservation;

Now, in pursuance to guidelines issued by Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Govt. of India in sanction order J-22012/13/2006-CS(W) dated 20-02-2017 & J-22012/ 13/2006–CS(W) dated 17.03.2017 -4(iii) regarding above cited subject and letter number J-22012/ 02/86-CS(W)–Vol-ii 006-CS(W) dated 15-02-2017-3(iii) & J-22012/24/96-CS(W) dated 27-03-2017-4(i) the Governor, Himachal Pradesh is pleased to constitute a State Level Steering Committee on Wetlands under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, Government of Himachal Pradesh for examining the action plan and review the progress of the activities taken under from time to time in respect of Wetlands identified under National Wetland Conservation Programme, as under :—

1. Chief Secretary, to the Govt. of H.P Chairman 2. Additional Chief Secretary (Env. Sc. & Tech.) Vice Chairman to the Govt. of H.P

3. Additional Chief Secretary(Forests) Member to the Government of H.P.

4. Principal Secretary (Tourism)to the Government of H.P Member 5. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, H.P Member 6. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, H.P Member 7. Advisor/Director(s), NRCD MoEF & CC, GoI, New Delhi Member 8. Deputy Commissioners, Member Kangra, Chamba , Mandi, Lahaul & Spiti and Sirmour Distts.

9. Director, National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, Uttarakhand Member 10. Director, Department of Fisheries, H.P. Member 11. Director, Department of Environment , Science & Technology, H.P Member 12. Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), North & South and CF Mandi Member 13. Member Secretary, H.P. The State Steering Committee would approve Annual Action Plans for conservation and management of all RAMSAR Wetlands i.e. Renukaji, Pong Dam, Chandertal and Wetlands of National importance i.e. Rewalsar & Khajjiar.

The term of the State steering Committee will be for three years. State Steering Committee will meet twice in a year and review the activities undertaken and suggest measures for conservation and development of the Wetlands.

The Officials members of the Steering Committee will be entitled to T.A./D.A as admissible under Govt. of H.P. Rules/Respective Deptts./Institutions

The non-official members would be paid TA/DA and honorarium for sitting as per the H.P. Govt. Rules as applicable in other Deptts./Institutions /Boards/Corporation.
