No. HHC/Rules-22(28)/84.—In exercise of the powers vested in it under Article 227, read with Article 235 of the Constitution of India, and all other powers enabling it in this behalf, the High Court of Himachal Pradesh makes the following amendments to the "Judicial Courts (Regulation and Maintenance of Canteens) Rules, 1984."

1. Short Title.—These rules shall be called the "Judicial Courts (Regulation and Maintenance of Canteens) First Amendment Rules, 2024.

2. Commencement.—These Rules shall come into force with immediate effect. 3. Amendment.—The existing figure Rs.1000/- in Rule-9 of the Rules shall stand substituted with figure Rs. 20,000/-.

After amendment the Rule-9 shall be read as under:

"The licensee shall be required to deposit a security in the sum of Rs. 20,000/- before

occupying the canteen premises pursuant to the grant of licence. The amount of such

security shall be refundable to the licensee after adjustment of dues towards licence

fee, electricity and water charges, if any, and subject to provisions contained in

Rule 23."

No. HHC/Rules/Judi Officers Guidelines.—Hon'ble the Chief Justice, High Court of Himachal Pradesh is pleased to issue following guidelines to providing Air Conditioner calculating deprecate value of Future/Electrical Appliances and Mobile Handset provided to Judicial Officers in the State of Himachal Pradesh:—

1. Depreciation value of Funiture/Electrical Appliances.—For the purpose of calculating the depreciation Furniture Articles/Electrical Appliances relevant provisions contained in the 'High Court of Himachal Pradesh (Disposal, Repair and Replacement of Free Furnishing Articles) Rules, 2023' shall apply mutatis mutandis.

2. Reimbursement for Furniture/Electrical Appliances.—1. The Judicial Officer shall first purchase the furniture and submit a receipt qua payment thereof through proper channel to the High Court and reimbursement of the amount spent towards purchase of said furniture shall be forthwith made by the High Court maximum within a period of 7 days from the date of receipt of purchase in this regard.

2. Furniture purchased by the a Judicial Officer upto 31st March 2025. including 31 March 2025, shall be deemed to have been purchased on 4th of January 2024 and the period of the five years applicable shall be counted from the said date.

3. The Judicial Officer who purchases furniture after 31st March, 2025, shall not get the benefit mentioned at Clause (ii) above and 5 years shall be counted from the date of purchase.

3. Depreciation value of Mobile Handset.—For the purpose of calculating the depreciation value of Mobile Handset, the provisions contained in the 'Policy for Procurement and Disposal of Electronic items provided to Hon'ble Chief Justice, Hon'ble Judges of the High Court and Judicial Officers of the State' shall apply mutatis mutandis.

Retirement /Demise.—1. Upon retirement the Judicial Officer shall be allowed to retain Furniture/Electrical Appliances and Mobile Phone, without making any payment, irrespective of the life span of same.

2. In case of demise of the Judicial Officer, his/her spouse/children may retain the Furniture/Electrical Appliances and Mobile Phone, without making any payment, irrespective of the life span of same.

5. Air Conditioner.—Judicial Officer shall be entitled for an all-weather Air Conditioner with a maximum ceiling of Rs. 50,000/- which amount shall be reviewed in future. However, the purchase of the Air Conditioner shall be for the earmarked residences/Government accommodations of the Judicial Officers.

6. Residuary.—Chief Justice shall have the absolute power to amend or relax any of the conditions in the aforesaid Rules/Policy at any time.

2. Commencement.—These Rules Shall come into force with immediate effect.
