No. 576 /3 / EVM/2014 /NS - I.-Whereas , Section 71A of the Jammu and Kashmir Representation of the People Act , 1957 , provides that the giving and recording of votes by Voting Machines in such manner as may be prescribed , may be adopted in such constituencies as the Election 2 The J & K Govt . Gazette , 5th Nov. , 2014/ 14th Kart . , 1936. [No. 31-4
Commission of India may, having regard to the circumstances of each case specify ; and
2. Whereas , the Commission has considered the circumstances in all the Assembly Constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir, and is satisfied that sufficient number of Electronic Voting Machines are available for taking the poll in all the Assembly Constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir ; the polling personnel are well trained in efficient handling of the Electronic Voting Machines and the electors are also fully conversant with the operation of the Electronic Voting Machines .
3. Now, therefore, the Election Commission of India hereby specifies each of the 87 Assembly Constituencies of the State of Jammu and Kashmir as the constituencies in which the votes at the current General Election to the State Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir , notified/ to be notified on 28-10-2014 , 07-11-2014 , 14-11-2014, 19-11-2014 and 26-11-2014 , shall be given and recorded by means of Electronic Voting Machines in the manner prescribed under the Jammu and Kashmir Conduct of Elections Rules , 1965 , and the supplementary instructions issued by the Commission from time to time on the subject .

SRO - 488 .-- Whereas , in accordance with the provisions of sub - section ( 1 ) of section 52 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, the existing Legislative Assembly of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, unless sooner dissolved , shall continue up to and including the 19th January, 2015 ( Monday ) and shall , thereafter , stand dissolved on the expiration of its duration ; and [No. 33 - aa 2 The J & K Govt . Whereas , in terms of sub - section ( 1 ) of section 27 of the Jammu and Kashmir Representation of the People Act , 1957 ( IV of 1957 ) , a general election has to be held for the purpose of constituting a new Legislative Assembly of the State .
Now, therefore , as recommended by the Election Commission of India in pursuance of sub- section ( 2 ) of section 27 of the said Act, the Governor of the State of Jammu and Kashmir is hereby pleased to call upon the following Assembly Constituencies in the State , to elect members to the Legislative Assembly of the State , in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder , namely : -
