Whereas the draft of the Karnataka State (Forensic Science Laboratory Services) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2021 was published as required by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978, (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) in Notification No. HD/41/PPA/2021-PS_B, Bengaluru, dated:23.09.2021 in Part IV-A, No.792 of the Karnataka Gazette Extra-ordinary dated:23.09.2021, inviting objections or suggestions from all the persons likely to be affected thereby within fifteen days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on 23.09.2021;
And whereas objections and suggestions received within the period above have been examined.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act No. 14 of 1990), the Government of Karnataka, hereby makes the following rules, namely:-
R.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19 Licensed to post without prepayment WPP No. 297 2 Rules 1. Title and commencement:-(1) These rules may be called the Karnataka State (Forensic Science Laboratory Services) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2021.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Amendment to schedule 1.- In Schedule 1 of the Karnataka State (Forensic Science Laboratory Services) (Recruitment) Rules, 2017 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules) after serial no. 43, the following shall be inserted, namely:-

| 43(A) | Scene of Crime Officer ( (37900-70850) | 206 | By Direct Recruitment | For Direct Recruitment:- Must be holder of Bachelor Degree in Forensic Science with at least 55% aggregate marks from the University established by Law Or Must be a holder of Bachelor Degree in Science with at least 55% aggregate marks from the University established by Law with one year diploma in Forensic Science with at least 55% aggregate marks from recognized Institution. Or Must be a holder of Bachelor Degree in Science with at least 55% aggregate marks from the University established by Law with master degree in Forensic Science with at least 55% aggregate marks. |
2. Amendment of schedule 2.- In schedule 2 of the said rules, in paragraph 2 for the words and figures "at serial no. 31 to 43" the words and figures "at serial no. 31 to 43(A)" shall be substituted.
