NOTIFICATION
Whereas the draft of the Karnataka General Services (Revenue Subordinate Branch) (Cadre and Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2023, was published as required by sub- section (1) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) is hereby published as required by clause (1), of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the said Act in Notification No. RD 240 BSC 2022, dated: 14.12.2023, published in Part IV-A of the Karnataka Gazette (Extra-ordinary) dated: 15.12.2023 inviting objections or suggestions from all the persons likely to be affected thereby within fifteen days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette.
Whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on 15.12.2023.
And whereas objections and suggestions received in this regard have been considered by the State Government.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section(1) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Karnataka General Services (Revenue Subordinate Branch) (Cadre and Recruitment) Rules, 1997, namely:-
RULES
1. Title and Commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka General Services (Revenue Subordinate Branch) (Cadre and Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2024.

Amendment of Schedule.- In the schedule to the Karnataka General Services (Revenue Subordinate Branch) (Cadre and Recruitment) Rules, 1977, for the entriesrelating to the category of post of "Village Accountant" in column (1), (2) and (3) the following shall be substituted, namely:-
| Village Administrative Officer | By direct recruitment on the basis of merit of marks secured in the Competitive Examination conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority or Karnataka Public Service Commission or any National or State Level Institutions owned by State or Central Government as per the Karnataka Civil Services (Direct Recruitment) (General) Rules, 2021. T raining: After appointment of every Village Administrative Officer is required to undergo training during the period of probation, a course of training for a period not exceeding six months and also pass tests as specified by the State Government within one year. | Must have passed pre University Examination or an equivalent examination. |
