NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 4 of the Census Act, 1948 (37 of 1948), the Government of Karnataka is pleased to appoint the Regional/ Divisional Commissioners of all Divisions as Divisional Census Officers within the meaning of the said sub-section, to supervise the Census taking within the jurisdiction of their respective divisions.

NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 4 of the Indian Census Act, 1948, (Act No. 37 of 1948), the Government of Karnataka is pleased to appoint the following authorities as Principal Census Officers within the meaning of the said sub-section to supervise the taking of the Census within their respective areas, namely:
1. All Deputy Commissioners of districts- in respect of their districts, including the city areas excluding Municipal Corporations.
2. All Commissioners of Municipal Corporations- Within the limits of their respective Municipal Corporations.
Further, in pursuance of section 12 of the said Act, the Government of Karnataka are also pleased to authorize the above-mentioned authorities for the purpose of said section within their respective jurisdiction.

NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (4) of Section 4 of the Census Act, 1948 (Act No.37 of 1948), the Government of Karnataka is pleased to delegate the powers of appointing Census Officers under sub-section (2) of section 4 of the said Act to the following authorities, within their respective jurisdictions:

| 1 | All Deputy Commissioners of Districts | Throughout the district, excluding the areas falling within the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporations. |
| 2 | All Commissioners of Municipal Corporations. | Within the limits of the respective Municipal Corporations. |
Further, in pursuance of sub-section (3) of Section 4 of the said Act, the Government of Karnataka is also pleased to authorize the above authorities, and the subordinate officers duly empowered by them, to sign the written declaration required under the said sub- section.
