NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by the Section-3 read with Section-9 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, His Excellency, the Governor of Karnataka hereby propose to declare the Town Panchayat of Harohalli of Bengaluru South District (earlier Ramanagar District) as mentioned in Schedule-A along with the boundaries mentioned in Schedule-B as a "Smaller Urban Area" and further to specify it as the "Town Municipal Council of Harohalli" and to constitute the Town Municipal Council to the said Area with effect from the date of publishing this Notification in the Official Gazette by His Excellency, the Governor of Karnataka having regards to:
i. The population of such area is not less than twenty thousand and not more than fifty thousand;
ii. The density of population in such area is not less than one thousand five hundred inhabitants to one square kilo meter of area;
iii. The revenue generated for local administration from such area from tax and non-tax sources in the year of the last preceding census is not less than rupees nine lakhs per annum or a sum calculated at the rate of rupees forty-five per capita per annum, whichever is higher;
iv. The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than fifty per cent of the total employment.
The Notification is hereby published for the information of the Public. All the persons, who would like to file any objection/suggestion to this Notification are hereby required to submit the same with reasons in writing to the Director, Directorate of Municipal Administration, 9th Floor, V.V.Tower, Bengaluru within 30 days from publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette. Further, Notification will be taken up for final consideration after the mentioned period of 30 days.

The proposed Harohalli Town Panchayath boundary area shall start from the east as a circle and shall include the following survey numbers: Bhimasandra village survey no. 16, 17, 53, 15, 14, 13, 11, 07, 06, 05, 04. Dyavasandra village survey no. 63, 64, 74, 69, 78, 79, 40, 80, 81, 104, 103, 102, 101, 39. Marasandra village survey no. 50, 49. Hoskote village survey no. 34 and Gabbadi village survey no. 91, 260, 261, 283. (The villages of Gottigehalli, Kadujakkasandra, Konasandra, Rampura, and Gottalkare Kaval are outside the Harohalli Town Panchayat boundary area.)
