NOTIFICATION-I
The draft of the following Rules further to amend the Karnataka Excise (Lease of the Right of Retail Vend of Wine or Fortified Wine) Rules, 2008, which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 71 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966) is hereby published as required under sub-section (1) of the said section for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken up for consideration after the expiry of Ten days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette.
Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government from any person in respect of the said draft before the period specified above will be considered by the State Government. The objections or suggestions may be addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Finance Department, Vidhana Soudha, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru -01.
DRAFT RULES
1. Title and commencement: - (1) These Rules may be called the Karnataka Excise (Lease of the Right of Retail Vend of Wine or Fortified Wine) (Amendment) Rules, 2026.
(1)2 (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the official Gazette.
2. Amendment of Rule 2:- In the Karnataka Excise (Lease of the Right of Retail Vend of Wine or Fortified Wine) Rules, 2008 (hereinafter referred to as the 'said rules'), in rule 2, in clause (8), for the word "Year" the word "Excise Year" shall be substituted.
3. Amendment of Rule 7:- In Rule 7 of said rules, for sub-rule (2), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"(2) The licence granted under sub-rule (1) shall be subject to the conditions specified therein and shall take effect from the date specified therein. The licence shall be valid for a period of 5 (five) Excise years including the year of grant, subject to annual payment of licence fee and additional licence fee at the prevailing rates"
4. Amendment of Rule 8:- In Rule 8 of the said rules, for sub-rule (2), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"(2) On receipt of the application under sub-rule (1), the Deputy Commissioner of Excise may renew the lease for a period of 5 (five) Excise years including the year of renewal, subject to annual payment of licence fee and additional licence fee at the prevailing rates"

1. ಶೀಷಿೆ ಮತು(cid:195) (cid:164)ಾ(cid:206)ರಂಭ :-(1) ಈ (cid:298)ಯಮಗಳನು(cid:199) ಕ£ಾಟಕ ಅಬಾĸ (®ೈŖ ಅಥ(cid:174)ಾ įೕġ¥ೈŏ ®ೈನÇ (cid:283)ಲ(cid:208)(cid:170)ೆ (cid:168)ಾ(cid:170)ಾಟದ ಹ(cid:276)(cid:180)ನ ಗುĦÃೆ) Īಯಮಗಳ, 2026 ಎಂದು ಕ(cid:170)ೆಯತಕ(cid:180)ದು(cid:197).
(2) ಈ Īಯಮಗಳ, ಕ£ಾಟಕ (cid:170)ಾಜ(cid:205) ಪತÎದಲಿÐ ಅವಗಳನುÇ ಅಂ(cid:294)ಮ(cid:174)ಾ(cid:278) ಪÎಕġಸಿದ (cid:296)(cid:163)ಾಂಕ(cid:296)ಂದ ಾĸೆ ಬರತಕ(cid:180)ದು(cid:197).

Amendment of Rule 2:- In the Karnataka Excise (Manufacture of Fortified Wine from Grapes) Rules, 1968, (hereinafter referred to as the said rules),in rule 2, after clause (1), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-
(1-A) "Excise Year" means the year commencing on the first day of July and ending with the 30th day of June of the next calendar year".
3.Amendment of Rule 8:- "In rule 8 of the said rules, in rule 8, the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"(1) The licence shall be granted in Form M.W.G.2 and shall be subject to the conditions specified therein and shall take effect from the date specified therein. NOTIFICATION-III
The draft of the following Rules further to amend the Karnataka Excise (Manufacture of Wine) Rules, 2008, which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 71 of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965 (Karnataka Act 21 of 1966) is hereby published as required under sub-section (1) of the said section for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken up for consideration after the expiry of Ten days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette.
8Any objections or suggestions which may be received by the State Government from any person in respect of the said draft before the period specified above will be considered by the State Government. The objections or suggestions may be addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Finance Department, Vidhana Soudha, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru -01.
DRAFT RULES
01. Title and commencement: - (1) These Rules may be called the Karnataka Excise (Manufacture of Wine) (Amendment) Rules, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the official Gazette.
02. Amendment of Rule 2:- In the Karnataka Excise (Manufacture of Wine) Rules, 2008, (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 2, after clause (2), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-
(2-A) "Excise Year" means the year commencing on the first day of July and ending with the 30th day of June of the next calendar year".
03. Amendment of Rule 5:- "In rule 5 of the said rules, for sub-rule (1), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"(1) The licence shall be granted in Form F.W.2 and shall be subject to the conditions specified therein and shall take effect from the date specified therein. The licence shall be valid for a period of 5 (five) Excise years including the year of grant, subject to annual payment of licence fee and additional licence fee at the prevailing rates"
