"By exercising the powers conferred under sub-section (2) of the relevant section of the Karnataka Freedom of Choice in Marriage and Prevention and Prohibition of Crimes in the Name of Honour and Tradition (Eva Namava, Eva Namava) Act, 2026 (Karnataka Act No. 23 of 2026), the Government of Karnataka hereby notifies that the said Act and all its provisions shall come into force with effect from date: 05.05.2026."
