Whereas the draft of the Karnataka General Services (Pre-University Education) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2026 was published as required by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 3 read with Section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) dated: 18.06.2026 in Part-IVA (No.454) of the Karnataka Gazette Extraordinary inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby within seven days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette.
Whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on 18.06.2026.
And whereas the objections and suggestions received from the public have been considered by the Government.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 R.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19Licensed to post without prepayment WPP No. 297 3 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990), the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Karnataka General Services (Pre-University Education) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2013, namely.
RULES
1. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka General Services (Pre-University Education) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force from date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Amendment of Schedule.- In the Karnataka General Services (Pre- University Education) (Recruitment) Rules, 2013, in the schedule, in Sl.No.10, for the category of the post "Lecturers, Government Pre-University Colleges", under the heading " Method of Recruitment ", in column (4), the following shall be inserted at the end namely,-.
"The Lecturers who are appointed herein after by direct recruitment and promotion shall teach 9th and 10th class also in educational institutions specified by the Government."
