(First published in the Karnataka Gazette Extra-ordinary on the 7th day of September, 2026) THE BANGALORE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2026 (Received the assent of the Governor on the 7th day of September, 2026) An Act further to amend the Bangalore Development Authority Act, 1976.
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Bangalore Development Authority Act, 1976 (Karnataka Act 12 of 1976) for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
Be it enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature in the seventy seventh year of the Republic of India as follows, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Bangalore Development Authority (Amendment) Act, 2026.
(1)2 2. Amendment of section 10.- In the Bangalore Development Authority Act, 1976 (Karnataka Act 12 of 1976) (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act) in section 10,-
(i) in sub-section (1), for the words "fifty lakhs of rupees", the words "five crore rupees" shall be substituted; and
(ii) in sub-section (2), for the words "fifty lakhs of rupees", the words "five crore rupees" shall be substituted.
3. Amendment of section 38D.- In the Principal Act, in section 38D,-
(i) in sub-section (1), for clause (ii) and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"(ii) The allottee makes payment towards the allotment of land at rates specified in the table below,-

| 1. | Up to 20'X30' | Five percent of the Guidance value |
| 2. | More than 20'X30' and upto 30'X40' | Twelve and a half percent of the Guidance value |
| 3. | More than 30'X40' upto 40'X60' | Twenty percent of the Guidance value |
| 4. | More than 40'X60' and upto 50'X80' | Twenty five percent of the Guidance value and penalty as may be prescribed |
Provided that, in respect of corner site with building, it shall be twice the rates specified above."
(ii) for sub-section (3), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"(3) If the unauthorised occupants in the Authority lands do not obtain allotment of site under this section within two years from the date of commencement of the Bangalore Development Authority (Amendment) Act, 2026, the Authority shall evict such unauthorized occupants."
