ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ, ಕಂಪನಿ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ, 2013ರ ಪರಿಚ್ಛೇದ 149, ಉಪ ಪರಿಚ್ಛೇದ 6, ಖಂಡ (ಅ)ರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 'ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು' (Independent Director) ಗಳನ್ನು ನೇಮಕ ಮಾಡಲು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸದರಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರವನ್ನು ಚಲಾಯಿಸಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ನಿಗಮ ನಿಯಮಿತ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಇದರ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಈ ಕೆಳಕಂಡ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರುಗಳನ್ನು 'ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು'ಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ಆದೇಶದವರೆಗೆ ನೇಮಕ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
