Competitive tenders in two separate sealed covers for pre-qualification and execution of the following work is invited by the Superintending Engineer, Harbour Engineering North Circle, Kozhikode for and on behalf of the Governor ofKerala from registered 'A' Clasy Contractors /Firma of any State P.W.D. , Irrigation Department, CPWD and Port Trusts having previous experience in major construction works and financial capacity for the work. Contractors/ firms who have satisfactorily completed at least one major civil works costing more than 40 % of the estimate PAC ofwork tendered during the last five years and capable of mobilizing heavy duty machineries for breakwater work may apply . The application for tender schedule should be supported by certificate of prior experience as mentioned above obtained from the agreement authority and tender schedule will be issued only to those who satisfy this condition. They should produce relevant certificates from the agreement authority along with the tender also .

on Tender documents ( Pre - qualification and execution ofworks) cancan be had from the office of the undersigned from 11-6-2007 to 18-6-2007 during office hours on remittance of Rs. 4,000 + VAT (non refundable) towards the cost. The details of work if any required canbe had from the office ofthe undersigned during office hours. The sale of tender schedule for the work and pre - qualification will be closed at 3 p . m. 18-6-2007. The pre-qualification teader schedule (3 copies) containing the questionnaire daly filled up by the tenderer and teader schedule for the work should be submitted in separate sealed covers. The pre- qualification documents should be in book form with serially aumbered pages having an index sheet showing the contents and page numbers. Name of work should be written on sealed covers and the sealed cover should be post/ speed post so as to reach undersigned before 4 p . m . on sent by registered the officece of the 26-6-2007.

Tenders which are received after 4 p.m. on 26-6-2007 due to postal delay or due to any other reason will not be considered at any cost . This department will not be responsible for any such delay. If the last date of the receipt of tenders happens to be a holiday, tenders will be accepted upto 4p.m. on the next working day. Preliminary agreement duly filed in and signed on stamp paper worth Rs . 50 should accompany the tender for the work and the required EMD pledged in favour of the undersigned should also be enclosed in a separate cover . Tender sub- mittedwithout preliminary agreement and EMD (duly pledged) will be rejected outright . The pre-quali Ecation tenders alone will be opened on the same day at 4.30 p . m. by the undersigned or by his authorised representative in the presence of tenderers or their representatives who may present at that time and will be submitted to the Chief Engineer for scrutiny and evaluation by the Committee consti- tuted for this purpose. Only the tenders of those wha have been pre-qualified will be opened later and the tenders of those who have not been pre- qualified will be summarily rejected without opening the tender. Thefirm period of the tender willbe 4months from thedate of opening of the tender.

The tenders through courier service will not be accepted. The filled up questionnaire for pre- qualification in triplicate bound in book form, EMD and preliminary agreement shall be put in one cover and the tender for the work another cover, Thepre- qualification document not received in the form of bound book shall be rejected.
