Dated, Thiruvananthapuram , 14th June 2007.
8. R. O. No. 683/2007. WHEREAS , the place specified in the Schedulebelow is of vital importance to the country ;
AND WHEREAS , information with respect thereto , or the destruction or obstruction thereof, or interference therewith , would be useful to an enemy:i
NOW, THEREFORE , in exercise of the powers conferred by sub - elause(d) of clause (8) of section 2 of the Official Secrets Act , 1923 ( Central Act 19 of 1923) , read with Notification S. O No. 1285 dated the 4th May , 1963 of the Ministry of Home Affairs , Government of India , the Government of Kerala hereby declare the place specified in the Schedule below to be a " prohibited place" for the purpose of the Said Act and direct that a copy of this notification , both in English and Malayalam versions thereof, be affixed to the said place .

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification , but is intended to indicate its general purport. )
It is considered necessary that the place mentioned in the Schedule to the above notification , namely th : 66 KV Sub Station of the Kerala State Electricity Board at Pecrmade in Idukki District should be declared as a " Prohibited Place" under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, as the installation place is of vital importance to the country .
This notification is intended to achieve the above object .
