In exercise of the powers conferred by sub . section ( 1) of Section 260 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, the High Court of Kerala hereby specifically empowers the Judicial Magistrates of the First Class mentioned in Column ( 1 ) of the Schedule hereto attached to try in a summary way all the offences mentioned in the said sub -section.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 , (Central Act 2 of 1974) , the High Court of Kerala hereby:
(i) confers upon Sri T. A. Mohammed Sheriff, S. B. Manzil , Kizhakkekkara , Kottarakkara all the powers conferred up on a Magistrate of the First Class under the said Code in respect of all cases of persons travelling without a proper pass or ticket over any part of the Southern Railway within the District of Thiruvananthapuram , Kollam. Pathanamthitta, Kottayam , Alappuzha and that part of the District of Ernakulam which lies to the south of and inclusive of Ernakulam Junction and Cohin Harbour Terminus or committing over any part ofthe said Railway in the above arca, any of the offences falling under Sections 137 to 139, 141 and 142, 144 to 147, 155 to 157, 159 , 162, 163, 166 and 167 of the Indian Railways Act, 1989 (Central Act 24 of 1989); said
(ii) appoints the said Sri T.A. Mohammed Sheriff as Honorary Special Judicial Magistrate of the Second Class ( Railways ) , Kollam for further period of one year with effect from 1-8-2007 and;
(iii) further confers upon him under Section 261 of the said Code, the powers to try summarily the offences set out earlier .
