As per G. O. ( MS) 141 /94/ H & FWD . dated 18-6-1994 qualification for promotion to the post of Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery is as follows:-
A. 1. M.S.
2. M. Ch in the concerned speciality.
3. Three years teaching experience as Tutor/ Lecturer in the concerned Speciality .
B. In the absence of the candidates with the qualification above .
1. M. S.
2. M. Ch in the concerned speciality .
3. Three years teaching experience as Tutor /Lecturer in the Department of Surgery
C. In the absence of A & B above

2. Three years teaching experience as Tutor/Lecturer in the concerned Speciality .
considered for Most of the candidates in the Departurent of Neurosurgery have the qualification prescribed in clause C. But in earlier DPCs only the candidates who have qualification in A & B wore promotion . Hence number candidates who have qualification in clause C have lost their seniority . Later the DPCs has selected the candidates in the category C for promotion . Hence these candidates have reque ted to restore their seniority . Henec the matter has been placed the Dapatmental Promotion Committee Meeting held on 5-10-2007 for consideration .
