NOTIFICATION

Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 18th December 2007 .
S. R. O. No. 191/ 2008.- WHEREAS , the place specified in the Schedule below is of vital importance to the country ;
AND WHEREAS , information with respect thereto , or the destruction or obstruction thereof, or interference therewith , would be useful to an enemy;
Now, THEREFORE , in exercise of the powers conferred by sub- clause (d) of clause (8) of section 2 of the Official Secrets Act , 1923 (Central Act 19 of 1923 ) , read with Notification S. O. No. 1285 dated the 4th May , 1963 of the Ministry of Home Affairs , Government of India, the Govern- ment of Kerala hereby declare the place specified in the Schedule below to be a " Prohibited Place " for the purposes of the said Act and direct that a copy of this Notification , both in English and Malayalam languages be affixed to the said place .

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification , but is intended to indicate its general purport . )
It is considered necessary that the place mentioned in the Schedule to the above Notification , namely , the 33 KV Sub Station of the Kerala State Electricity Board at Kaipamangalam in Thrissur District , should be declared as a " Prohibited Place" under the Official Secrets Act 1923, ( Central Act 19 of 1923 ) , as the installation place is of vital importance to the country .
The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
