S. R. O. No. 215/2008 .— WHEREAS , the place specified in the Schedule below is of vital importance to the country ;
AND WHEREAS , information with respect thereto, or the destruction or obstruction thereof or interference therewith , would be useful to an enemy ;
NOW, THEREFORE , in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (d) of clause ( 8) of section 2 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923 ( Central Act 19 of 1923) , read with Notification S. O. No. 1285 dated the 4th May, 1963 of the Ministry of Home Affairs , Government of India , the Government of Kerala hereby declare the place specified in the Schedule below to be a "prohibited place " for the purposes of the said Act and direct that a copy of this notification , both in English and Malayalam languages , be affixed to the said place .

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification , but is intended to indicate its general purport .)
It is considered necessary that the place mentioned in the Schedule to the above notification , namely the 33/11 KV Sub Station of the Kerala State Electricity Board at Vatanappilly in Thrissur District should be declared as a " Prohibited Place" under the Official Secrets Act, 1923 ( Central Act 19 of 1923 ) , as the installation place is of vital importance to the country .
The notification is intended to achieve the above object .
