The following Act of Parliament, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section I, dated the 31st December, 2008 is hereby republished for general information. The Bill as passed by the Houses of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 30th December, 2008.

THE SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES OF OFFICERS OF

PARLIAMENT (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008

(ACT NO. 30 OF 2008)

ACT

further to amend the Salaries and Allowances of Officers of Parliament

Act,1953.

BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:—

1. Short title.—This Act may be called the Salaries and Allowances of Officers of Parliament (Amendment) Act, 2008.

2. Amendment of section 3 of Act 20 of 1953.—In section 3 of the Salaries and Allowances of Officers of Parliament Act, 1953, in sub-section (1), for the words "forty thousand rupees", the words "one lakh twenty-five thousand rupees" shall be substituted and shall be deemed to have been substituted with effect from the 1st day of January, 2006.
