[KAU—Reconstitution of the General Council-Election under Section 10(ii)-Elected members sub-clause (4) of KAU Act (Act 33 of 1971 as amended vide Act 16 of 2001)] Whereas it has become expedient to fill the vacancy in one of the two positions in the student constituency in the General Council of Kerala Agricultural University, it is hereby notified that an election will be held to the General Council according to the principles of proportional representation by means of single transferable vote and as per provisions contained in Statute SRO No. 678/74 in the following constituencies.

Name of Constituency—Students of the University.

No. of Members to be elected—1 (One).

Only those whose names have been included in the electoral roll as published by the University on 26-12-2009 and corrections issued on 11-1-2010 are eligible to take part in the election and vote thereof, provided that any person who ceases to be a member of the electoral body before the date of poll shall not be entitled to participate in the election.

Copies of the electoral rolls can be had from the University office on payment of Rs. 10 per copy. Every elector is at liberty to nominate a duly qualified person who is a member of the constituency concerned. Every nomination shall be in writing and shall be seconded in writing by another elector. Nomination should be made in prescribed form, copies of which will be supplied on request from the Office of the Registrar & Returning Officer.

The envelope containing nomination paper shall be superscribed "Nomination for Election to the General Details of Polling Stations, Polling areas, Electoral Roll Numbers of electors to vote at the station etc. will be published separately in all the offices of the University.
