It is hereby notified that the Practical Tests in the following subjects under the Printing Technology Group, Theory Part of which held in July 2008, will be conducted in October 2010 according to the time-table appended:

1. Book Binding (Lower/Higher)

2. Compositor's Work (Lower/Higher)

3. Proof Reader's Work (Lower/Higher)

4. Machine Work (Lower/Higher)

5. Press Work (Lower/Higher)

6. Printer's Warehouse (Lower/Higher)

7. Type Casting (Lower/Higher)

Only those candidates who have been declared to have passed in the Theory Part of the Examinations conducted during July 2008 will be admitted to the Practical Test.

There will be Five Centres for the Practical Test, viz:—

1. Book Binding (Lower/Higher) : (a) IPT & GPT, Shoranur

(b) Technical High School, Pala

(c) Technical High School, Pampadi

(d) Central Polytechnic College,

Thiruvananthapuram.

(e) Book Binding Centre,

Kulathoor, Thiruvananthapuram.

2. Compositor's Work (Lower/Higher) : (a) IPT & GPT, Shoranur

(b) Technical High School, Pala

(c) Technical High School, Pampadi

3. Proof Reader's Work (Lower/Higher) : (a) IPT & GPT, Shoranur

(b) Technical High School, Pala

(c) Technical High School, Pampadi

(d) Central Polytechnic College,

Thiruvananthapuram.

4. Machine Work (Lower/Higher) : IPT & GPT, Shoranur

The centre at which the candidates have to appear for the Practical Test in each subject is shown in the Annexure to the notification. It will be conducted in accordance with the notification. There will be no postponement of examination unless otherwise notified from this office.

General Instructions

The candidates are expected to handle the apparatus, machinery, instruments, etc. entrusted to them in connection with the Practical Test with utmost care so as to avoid damage. The cost of damages and breakages to articles, if any, due to candidate's negligent way of handling, will be realized in full from the candidates concerned.

Candidates should bring with them the Admission Tickets already issued at the time of admission to the Theory Part of Examination. No separate admission tickets will be issued to candidates for Practical Test.

The candidates appearing for the Practical Test in Book Binding should bring with them the following articles:

1. Book sewing needle.

2. Footruler.

3. Penknife.
