G. O. (P) No. 254/2010/Home. Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 15th November 2010.
S. R. O. No. 1174/2010.—In exercise of powers conferred by sub-setion (l) of section 2 of the Kerala Public Services Act, 1968 (19 of 1968), the Government of Kerala hereby make the following rules further to amend the Kerala Judicial Ministerial Subordinate Services Rules published under notification G.O.(P) No. 177/1975/PD dated the 2nd September, 1975 as S.R.O. No. 900/75 in Part I, Section iv of the Kerala Gazette No. 39 dated the 7th October, 1975, namely:—
RULES
1. Short title and commencement.—(1) These Rules may be called the Kerala Judicial Ministerial Subordinate Services (Amendment) Rules, 2010.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 21st day of February, 2006.
2. Amendment of the Rules.— In the Kerala Judicial Ministerial Subordinate Service Rules, in rule 5, in sub rule (a),—
(i) against Category 1 (a) in column (1), in item (ii) in column (2), after the existing entries, the words "on the basis of their seniority in the common seniority list" shall be added ;
2(iii) against Category 1(c) in column (1), in item (ii) and in column (2), after the existing entries, the words "on the basis of their seniority in the common seniority list" shall be added;
(iv) against Category 2(a) in column (1), in both the items (i) and (ii) in column (2), after the existing entries the words "on the basis of their seniority in the common seniority list" shall be added;
(v) against Category 2(b) in column (1), in item (i) in column (2), after the existing entries the words "on the basis of their seniority in the common seniority list" shall be added;
(vi) against Category 2(d) in column (1), in the entries in column (2), after the words "available for such promotion" the words "from the Criminal Wing, then from the Civil Wing of the same District or if no qualified and suitable hand is available for such promotion" shall be inserted.

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the Notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)
Amendment was made to Kerala Judicial Subordinate Service Rules [G. O.(P) No.177/75/PD dated 2-9-1975] and formulated Kerala Judicial Ministerial Service (Amendment) Rules, 2006 as per G. O. (P) No.10/06/Home. But a number of errors crept into this Notification. In order to rectify these errors, Government have decided to amend the original rules issued as per G. O.(P) No. 177/75/PD dated 2-9-1975.
