Sealed and competitive tenders are invited from the manufacturers /suppliers for the supply of fibre glass motor boat for Motor Boat Veterinary Hospital , Alappuzha for the year 2009-10 .

The tender should include the following :

1. Specification of the item with rate ( inclusive of taxes or any other charges )

2. Brochure from original manufacturers ( in case of agents ) AMC conditions (period of visits in a year etc. ) warrant conditions , years of warranty etc.

3. Copy of ISO certificate , if any.

4. Original tender form duly signed by authorised signatory.

5. Preliminary agreement in Kerala Stamp Paper worth 50 .

6. EMD by means of demand draft in favour of the Senior Veterinary Surgeon , Motor Boat Veterinary Hospital payable at Alappuzha .

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

1. The rates quoted should be inclusive of all taxes only.

2. Instruction manual should be specified and a copy shall be submitted along with the tender.

3. The supply should be from the new stock noting the original specification, make of model etc. The supply should be completed as per the date mentioned in the supply order .

4. The rate quoted should be in Indian currency and the payment will be in Indian currency.

5. Advance payment against bank guaranty .

6. The security deposit furnished by the firm will be released only after the guaranty.

7. If the date scheduled for receipt / opening of tenders is declared as a holiday ( local bar general) tenders will be received and opened on the next working day respectively.

8. The undersigned reserves all the rights delete any items from the tender without assigning any reason thereof.

Note: The dimensions given above are approximate and minor variations that do not affect the capacity, functions or speed of the boat shall be permitted with consent of the owner.

2. Materials and Workmanship :

All materials , workmanship and finish shall be of high standard . The necessary test reports and specifications of raw materials used in the construction should be submitted to the owner. Low Alkali E- type Glass , Glass fibre chopped strand mat shall conform to BS 3496-1989 and Glass fibre BS3691-1060 . Lay up resin shall be of the test make Marine grade Isopthalic and preferred for use by the Indian Navy, Coast Guards , Fisheries etc.

The resin manufactures recommendations are to be followed as regards to the addition of hardeners , catalyst , accelerators . The exact preparation should be maintained throughout to maintain the quality of GRP lay - up . Air trap during lamination should be removed . Layers are to be built up evenly and successive layers are to be added only after the curing of the previous layers . Excessive heat up shall be avoided . Curing time should be as per standard .

3. Hull : Hull thickness should be of sufficient as required by the IRS rules for inland FRP vessels . The quality of materials used for construction of the hull and necessary properties of the hull should be tested and verified by competent authority and necessary certificates should be submitted to the owner after the authorisation by the concerned inspection agency.

The hull shall be subdivided into a minimum of 3 compartments by providing a collision bulkhead and an aft peak bulkhead .

4. Engine : The engine shall be out board engine of power of approximately 15 HP. Suitable arrangements and additional strengthening shall be made at the aft end of the boat for fitting the OBM .

5. Mooring Arrangement :

(a) Anchor and chain of suitable size shall be provided on the fore deck for holding the boat on anchor.

(b) 3 Nos . of mooring bollards of suitable size shall be conveniently located.

6. Steering and Speed Control : Steering wheel and remote Control for throttle should be provided so that the OBM can be controlled from the helmsman's position facing forward .

7. Canopy: Rigid canopy is to be provided in way of driver and passenger seating with effective protection from sun , wind and rain .

8. Seating Arrangement : Seating arrangement should be provided for 8 persons including driver . Separate bucket seat should be provided for driver .

9. Locker: A locker with sufficient capacity to store medicines , microscope cryocan and other necessary items shall be provided .

10. Fuel tank : A fuel tank with sufficient capacity for travel time of 16 hours at the design speed shall be provided with proper and safe securing arrangements .

11. Tests and Trials : A speed trial and manoeuvring trial shall be conducted to demonstrate the speed and manoeuvrability of the vessel to the satisfaction of the owner and statutory authorities . A swamp test shall be conducted to demonstrate the non - sinkability of the vessel to the satisfaction of the owner and statutory authorities . The transverse stability of the boat shall be assessed and the relevant documents shall be submitted to and approved by the statutory authorities .

12. Life saving appliances ( LSA ) and Fire -fighting appliances ( FFA) : LSA and FFA shall be provided as per the applicable rules and regulations .

13. Navigation Lights : Navigation lights shall be provided as per the applicable rules and regulations .

14. Guarantee period: There shall be guarantee for a period of 1 year from the date of delivery of the boat against any defect both mechanical as well as body part .
