[Notification under Section 31(2) of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and Article 1.2.1(5) of Food Safety and Standards (Licensing & Registration of Food Business) Regulation, 2011]

CFS—Implementation of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 notification of Registering Authority under Food Safety and Standards Act (Licensing & Registration of Food Business) Regulation, 2011— Orders issued.

ORDER

No. D-2143/2011/CFS.

23rd March 2012.

In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 31(2) of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and Article 1.2.1 (5) of Food Safety and Standards (Licensing & Registration of Food Business) Regulation, 2011, the Designated Officers, Palakkad is appointed as the Registering Authority for the Palakkad Municipality.

This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.

As per Order No. A-2714/11/CFS dated 25-10-2011, Food Safety Officers notified under Section 37 of Food Safety & Standards Act., 2006 were appointed as Registering Authority under Section 31 (2) of the said Act. In the absence of notified Food Safety Officer in the local area, Palakkad Municipality, Commissioner of Food Safety in exercise of the statutory powers under Article 1.2.1(5) of Food Safety and Standards (Licensing & Registration of Food Business) Regulation, 2011, notify the Designated Officer of Palakkad District as the Registering Authority. This notification is intended to achieve the above object.
