Election to the General Council of Kerala Agricultural University from the Senate of
Cochin University of Science and Technology
Whereas, it has become expedient to conduct an election to the General Council of Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) from the Senate of the Cochin University of Science and Technology, it is hereby notified that an election will be held to elect a member by the members of the Senate of the University from among themselves so as to send the member to the General Council of KAU, in accordance with the University of Cochin First Statutes on Elections.
Only those persons who are on the electoral roll published on 22nd May 2013 alone shall be entitled to participate in the election provided that any person who ceases to be a member of the electoral body before the date of issue ofballot paper from the University Office shall not be entitled to participate in the election. Copies of the electoral roll can be obtained from the University Office on request, during office hours. Every elector shall be at liberty to nominate a qualified person. Every such nomination shall be in the prescribed form and shall be made by an elector in writing and shall be seconded in writing by another elector. The nomination shall be accompanied by the consent in writing of the nominee agreeing to serve on the General Council of KAU, if elected and a declaration that he is not already a member of General Council of KAU, or if he is already a member, his term of office as such would expire before the membership for which he is seeking election takes about.
Nominations in the prescribed form, which can be obtained from the University Office, must reach the Returning Officer within the date and hour fixed for the same as indicated in the Election Schedule. The envelope containing the nomination paper should be superscribed "Nomination for Election to the General Council of Kerala Agricultural University from the Senate of CUSAT".
The Candidate and a representative of each candidate appointed in writing by the Candidate and approved by the Returning Officer may be present at all the time of the scrutiny of nominations.
The withdrawal of the Candidature is to be made by the Candidate in the prescribed form which can be obtained from the office of the Returning Officer during office hours.
The place where polling station is provided will be intimated through "the letter of intimation" in due course.
