In exercise of the powers conferred by sub section 1 of section 37 of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (Central Act 34 of 2006), the following Food Inspectors are appointed as Food Safety Officers respectively for all the Local Area of the State notified under section 3(1) (zb) of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

According to sub section I of section 37 of FSS Act, 2006 the Commissioner of Food Safety shall by notification in the official gazette appoint such persons as he thinks fit having the qualification prescribed for such local areas as it may assigned to them.

So each Food Safety Officer need to be notified on fresh appointment/transfer. This creates a vacuum in the implementation of the Act every time a Food Safety Officer is appointed . as fresh or transferred from one area of jurisdiction to
another. Hence the Food Safety Officers are notified for
the entire State. But their jurisdiction restricted to
Circle/Municipalities/Corporations as specified in
local area notified under Section 3(1) (zb) of Food
Safety and Standards Act. This notification is
intended to achieve the above object.
