In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 260 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973, the High Court of Kerala hereby specifically empowers the Judicial Magistrates of the First Class mentioned in Column (2) of the Schedule hereto attached to try in a summary way all the offences mentioned in the said sub-section.

In exercise of the powers conferred by (i) Confers upon Smt. K. M. Rugmini, Reji House, P. O. Edakkad, West Hill, Kozhikode-673 005 all the powers conferred upon a Magistrate of the First Class under the said Code in respect of all cases of persons travelling without a proper pass or ticket over any part of the Southern Railway within the Districts of Kasaragod, Thalassery, Kozhikode and that part of the District of Manjeri which lies to the north of and exclusive of Tirur or committing over any part of the said Railway in the above said area any of the offences falling under section 137-139, 141 and 142 to 147, 155 to 157, 159, 162, 163, 166 and 167 of the Indian Railways Act, 1989 (Central Act 24 of 1989).
(ii) Appoints the said Smt. K. M. Rugmini as Honorary Special Judicial Magistrate of Second Class (Railways), Kozhikode for a period of one year with effect from 22-8-2015.
(iii) Further confers upon her under Section 261 of the said Code, the powers to try summarily the offences set out earlier.
