RE-CONSTITUTION OF STAFF COUNCIL
NOTIFICATION
No. GA & EL. 1/29(2)Election/2014.
27th December 2016.
Whereas it has become expedient to re-constitute the Staff Council of the University i.e, to conduct elections to the Staff Council from the Constituencies of Teaching Staff, Non-teaching Staff, Senate and Syndicate of the University; it is hereby notified that the following elections will be held in accordance with the provisions of CUSAT Act, 1986 and the Statutes on Elections.
1. As per Section 29(1) (b) and 45 Two members elected by the teachers of the University
Departments and recognized Institutions from among themselves 2. As per Section 29(1) (c) and 45 Two members elected by the Non-teaching Staff of the University
from among themselves
3. As per Section 29(1) (d) and 45 Two members elected by the members of the Senate from among
themselves
4. As per Section 29(1) (e) and 45 Two members elected by the members of the Syndicate from among themselves
Only those persons who are on the Electoral Rolls, published on 8th December, 2016 alone shall be entitled to participate in the elections, provided that any person who ceases to be a member of the Electoral body before the date of issue of the ballot paper from the University Office shall not be entitled to participate in the election.
Nominations in the prescribed form, which can be obtained from the University office, must reach the Returning Officer/Registrar within the date and hour fixed for the same as indicated in the Election Schedule. The envelope containing the nomination paper should be superscribed as "Nomination for election to the Staff Council from the Constituency of (Name of the Constituency to be filled up)".
The candidate and a representative of each candidate appointed in writing by the candidate and approved by the Returning Officer may be present at the time of scrutiny of nominations.
The withdrawal of the candidature (as per the Election Schedule) is to be made by the candidate in the prescribed form which can be obtained from the Office of the Returning Officer during office hours.
The places where Polling Stations have been provided and the electors who shall exercise voting in the respective Polling Stations will be intimated through "the letter of Intimation" in due course.
Copies of the Electoral Roll can be obtained from the University office on request and payment of ` 100 per copy, during office hours.
