In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section 3 of section 3 of the Kerala Value Added Tax Act, 2003 (30 of 2004), Joint Commissioner (Law) appointed by Government as per notification under G. O. (P) No. 46/05/TD. dated 31-3-2005 and published as S.R.O. No. 318/2005 dated 31-3-2005 is assigned with the appellate powers of Joint Commissioner (Appeal) under section 55 of the Kerala Value Added Tax Act, 2003 to hear and pass orders on appeals against the orders passed by the Deputy Commissioners. The Joint Commissioner (Appeal) shall have statewide Jurisdiction and shall conduct appeal hearing at the district head quarters.
The procedure for filing of appeal before the Deputy Commissioner (Appeal) shall be followed mutatis mutandis for filing appeal before the Joint Commissioner (Appeal).

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 168 of the Kerala State Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (20 of 2017) read with sub-rule (5) of Rule 61 of the Kerala State Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017, the Commissioner, on the recommendations of the Council, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification No. 7/2018-State Tax dated 13th August, 2018, namely:—
