Hence, Kerala State Legal Services Authority resolved in the 63rd Authority meeting held on 21-11-2019 at High Court of Kerala, to reconstitute the Taluk Legal Services Committees for the Taluks of Thaliparambu, Kannur and Thalassery Taluks in Kannur District, Sulthan Bathery, Mananthavady and Vythiri Taluks in Wayanad District, Kozhikode, Koyilandy and Vatakara Taluk in Kozhikode District as provided in Section 11 A of the Act read with Rule 10 of the Kerala State Legal Services Authorities Rules, 1998.
This notification is intended to achieve the above object.

Section 11 A of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 (in short the Act), (Central Act 39 of 1987) empowers the State Legal Services Authority to constitute the Taluk Legal Services Committees consisting of the Ex-officio members and the other members nominated by the Government. In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 138 of Kerala Inland Vessel Rules 2010 and also with the approval of Government, hereby constitutes an advisory (This does not form the part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport)
As per Rule 138 of KIV Rules 2010, the competent authority shall with the approval of Government, notify the constitution of an advisory committee to advise the owners, agents, charterers of inland vessels on questions affecting interests of Passengers and shippers of goods.
