In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section (8) of section 24 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974) read with sub-rules (2), (3) and (4) of rule 11 of the Kerala Government Law Officers (Appointment and Conditions of Service) and Conductof Cases Rules, 1978, the Government of Kerala hereby appoint, Shri K.V. Sabu, Advocate, Roll No. K/49/1998, K.V.S. Legal Associates, Key Vees Arcade, Kovilakam Road, Manjeri, as This is a digitally signed Gazette. Authenticity may be verified through https://compose.kerala.gov.in/

Prosecutor for the conduct of prosecution in Crime No. 242/2022 of Manjeri Police Station, Malappuram District (Sessions Case No. 1118/2022 on the file of the Additional District and Sessions Court-III, Manjeri) on condition that, the expenses in this regard shall be met by the Petitioner in WP(C)No.29085 of 2023 of the Hon'ble High Court of Kerala.

Explanatory Note

The Hon'ble High Court of Kerala in its Judgment dated 20.09.2023 in WP(C)No.29085 of 2023, filed by Smt Soujath, W/o Late Abdul Jaleel, Thalappil House, Manjeri P.O., Ernad Taluk, Malappuram District, Pin 676 121, directed the Government to reconsider the application submitted by the petitioner before the Hon'ble Chief Minister (Ext.P4) and appoint Special Public Prosecutor in S.C. No. 1118/2023 on the file of the Additional District and Sessions Court-III, Manjeri and also directed that the Government can make it clear that the advocate fee of the Special Public Prosecutor will be met by the petitioner herself. Government have examined the matter in detail and have decided to appoint Shri K.V Sabu, Advocate, Roll No. K/49/1998, K.V.S.Legal Associates, Key Vees Arcade, Kovilakam Road, Manjeri, as Special Public Prosecutor and Shri P.K. Shareef, Advocate, Roll No. K/391/2016, K.V.S. Legal Associates, Key Vees Arcade, Kovilakam Road, Manjeri, as Additional Special Public Prosecutor for the conduct of prosecution in Crime No. 242/2022 of Manjeri Police Station, Malappuram District (Sessions Case No. 1118/2022 on the file of the Additional District and Sessions Court-III, Manjeri) on condition that, the expenses in this regard shall be met by the Petitioner, in the aforesaid Writ Petition.

The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
