WHEREAS, the Government of Kerala have appointed Shri Arun K. Antony and Shri Sunil Verma, Public Prosecutors of the Central Bureau of Investigation, Special Crime Branch, Thiruvananthapuram as Special Public Prosecutors for the conduct of prosecution in RC 2(S)/2021/CBI/SCB/TVPM and RC 3(S)/2021/CBI/SCB/TVPM (Crime Nos. 43/2017 and 240/2017 of Walayar Police Station), as per notification issued under G.O. (Rt.) No.
23043/2022/Home dated 1st November, 2022 and published as S.R.O. No. 1051/2022 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 3724 dated 2nd November, 2022;
AND WHEREAS, the Central Bureau of Investigation has recommended the Government of Kerala to appoint Shri Pious Mathew, Advocate as Special Public Prosecutor in the said cases by revoking the appointment of Shri Arun K.Antony and Shri Sunil Verma;
AND WHEREAS, the Central Bureau of Investigation has furnished the Government the present numbers assigned to the said cases while re-registering the said cases by them;
AND WHEREAS, the Government have decided to revoke the service of Shri Arun K. Antony and Shri Sunil Verma, as Special Public Prosecutors in the above mentioned cases and to appoint Shri Pious Mathew, Advocate as Special Public Prosecutor in the said cases;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (8) of section 24 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974) read with sub-rules (2), (3) and (4) of rule 11 of the Kerala Government Law Officers (Appointment and Conditions of Services) and Conduct of Cases Rules, 1978 and in supersession of the notification issued under G.O. (Rt.) No. 3043/2022/Home dated 1st November, 2022 and published as S.R.O. No. 1051/2022 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 3724 dated 2nd November, 2022, the Government of Kerala hereby appoint Shri Pious Mathew, Advocate, Roll No. K/544/1991, Varambinakam House, Ollur P.O., Thrissur District-680 306 as Special Public Prosecutor for the conduct of prosecution in RC 0342021 S0002 and RC 0342021 S0003 registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (Crime Nos. 43/2017 and 240/2017 of Walayar Police Station) on payment of fees prescribed in item 10 of rule 32 of the Kerala Government Law Officers (Appointment and Conditions of Service) and Conduct of Cases Rules, 1978.

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)
For the reasons stated in the notification the Government have decided to appoint Shri
3Pious Mathew, Advocate, Roll No. K/544/1991, Varambinakam House, Ollur P.O.,Thrissur District-680 306 as Special Public Prosecutor for the conduct of prosecution in RC 0342021 S0002 and RC 0342021 S0003, registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (Crime Nos. 43/2017 and 240/2017 of Walayar Police Station) on payment of fees prescribed in item 10 of rule 32 of the Kerala Government Law Officers (Appointment and Conditions of Service) and Conduct of Cases Rules, 1978 in supersession of the notification issued as S.R.O.No.1051/2022.
The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
