G.O. (P) No.2/2024/F&WLD Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 13 th January 2024 28 th Dhanu 1199 S. R. O. No. 39/2024

In exercise of the powers conferred under clause (a) of Section 2 of the Kerala Forest (Vesting and Management of Ecologically Fragile Lands) Act, 2003 (21 of 2005), the Government of Kerala hereby appoint Sri.L.Chandrasekar, IFS, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Social Forestry) as the Custodian of Ecologically Fragile Lands to exercise the powers and to perform the functions of the Custodian under the said Act in the place of Sri.Rajesh Ravindran, IFS, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Forest Management) appointed as Custodian by the notification issued under G.O (P) No. 9/2021/F&WLD dated 20th March, 2021 and published as S.R.O No.428/2021 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.1694 dated 3rd June 2021.

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport) The Kerala Forest (Vesting and Management of Ecologically Fragile Lands) Act, 2003 (21 of 2005), provides for the vesting of Ecologically Fragile Lands in the State of Kerala to the Government with a view to protect and maintain ecological balance of such lands conserving the bio-diversity and to empower the Government to appoint an officer not below the rank of Conservator of Forests as Custodian of Ecologically Fragile Lands to exercise the powers and perform the functions under the said Act. In exercise of the said powers, the Government have decided to appoint Sri.L.Chandrasekar, IFS, Additional
4Principal Chief Conservator of Forest as per order issued under G.O (Rt) No.5447/2023/GAD dated 06.12.2023 as the Custodian of Ecologically Fragile Lands in the place of Sri.Rajesh Ravindran, IFS, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Forest Management) appointed by the notification issued under G.O (P) No. 9/2021/F&WLD dated 20th March, 2021 and published as S.R.O No.428/2021 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.1694 dated 3rd June 2021.
The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
