NOTIFICATION

WHEREAS, under subsection (1) of section 33 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), the term of an administrator or an administrative committee appointed to manage the affairs of the society shall not exceed one year in the aggregate;
2AND WHEREAS, the said term of one year of the administrative committee appointed under sub section (1) of section 33 of the said Act to manage the affairs of the Puthanchira Vanitha Multi Purpose Cooperative Society Ltd. No. R.1010 in Thrissur District expired on 13th January, 2023;
AND WHEREAS, under subsection (1A) of section 33 of the said Act, the Government may, by notification in the Gazette, for reasons to be recorded, permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the administrator or administrative committee appointed to manage the affairs of the society for a further period not exceeding one year in the aggregate or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier;
AND WHEREAS, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies has reported that the election to the Board of Directors of the said society could not be conducted within the extended period and has requested to extend the term of the administrative committee for a further period of one year from 14th January, 2023 to 13th January, 2024 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier, to avoid administrative vacuum in the said society;
AND WHEREAS, the Government have examined the matter in detail and are satisfied that it is necessary, in public interest, to permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the administrative committee appointed to manage the affairs of the said society for a further period of one year from 14th January, 2023 to 13th January, 2024 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier;
NOW, THEREFORE,in exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (1A) of section 33 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), the Government of Kerala hereby permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the said administrative committee appointed to manage the affairs of the Puthanchira Vanitha Multi Purpose Cooperative Society Ltd. No. R.1010 in Thrissur District for a further period of one year from 14th January, 2023 to 13th January, 2024 or till a newly elected
3committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier, to avoid administrative vacuum in the said society .

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)
The term of the administrative committee appointed under subsection (1A) of section 33 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), to manage the affairs of the Puthanchira Vanitha Multi Purpose Cooperative Society Ltd. No. R.1010 in Thrissur District expired on 13 th January, 2023. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies has reported that the election to the Board of Directors of the said society could not be conducted within the period and has requested to extend the term of the administrative committee for a further period of one year from 14th January, 2023 to 13th January, 2024 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier. The Government have considered the matter in detail and are satisfied that it is necessary, in the public interest, to permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the administrative committee of the said society for a further period of one year from 14th January, 2023 to 13th January, 2024 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier to avoid administrative vacuum in the said society.
This notification is intended to achieve the above object.
