In exercise of the powers conferred under clause (p) of section 2 of the Press and Registration of Periodicals Act , 2023( Central Act 51 of 2023), the Government of Kerala hereby specify that the District Magistrates or District Collectors under whose jurisdiction periodical is proposed to be published shall be the Specified Authority for the purposes of the said Act.

Explanatory Note

( This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.) Clause  (p)  of  section 2 of the    Press  and  Registration of  Periodicals Act   2023 (Central Act 51 of 2023) empowers the state government to specify an officer as the specified authority for the purposes of the said Act. The government have therefore decided to specify the District   Magistrates   or   District   Collectors     of   each   district   as   the   Specified   Authority   for   the purposes of the said Act.

The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
