In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section (8) of section 18 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Central Act 46 of 2023) read with sub-rules (2), (3) and (4) of rule 11 of the Kerala Government Law Officers (Appointment and Conditions of Service) and Conduct of Cases Rules, 1978, the Government of Kerala hereby appoint Shri M.G.Sraddhadaran, Advocate, Roll No. K/640/99, Myladiyil House, Kariambadi P.O., Meenangadi-673 591, as Special Public Prosecutor for the conduct of prosecution of cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (Central Act 61 of 1985) in This is a digitally signed Gazette. Authenticity may be verified through https://compose.kerala.gov.in/ 2 the Special Court established under the said Act at Kalpetta, Wayanad District for a period of three years with effect from the date on which he assumes charge as such.

Explanatory Note

(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)

Government have established Special Court for the trial of cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (Central Act 61of 1985) at Kalpetta in Wayanad District and notified the Additional District and Sessions Court -II, Kalpetta, Wayanad District as the Special Courts under G.O.(Ms.)No.116/2019/Home dated 6th August, 2019 and published as S.R.O.No.590/2019 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.2054 dated 31rd August, 2019. Now the Government decided to appoint Shri M.G.Sraddhadaran, Advocate, Roll No. K/640/99, Myladiyil House, Kariambadi P.O., Meenangadi-673 591 , who is having the requisite qualification as Special Public Prosecutor for the conduct of prosecution of cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (Central Act 61 of 1985) in the said Special Courts for the trial of cases under the said Act.

The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
