NOTIFICATION
G.O.(P) No.172/2024/TAXES. Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 11 th December, 2024

WHEREAS, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (3) of rule 3 of the Lotteries (Regulation) Rules, 2010 have issued notification in respect of the X'mas – New Year Bumper Lottery 2024-25 (BR 101) to be organized by the Government of Kerala, under G.O.(P) No. 171/2024/Taxes dated 4th November, 2024 and published as S.R.O. No.1130/2024 in the Kerala Gazette Extra Ordinary No.3893 dated 5th December, 2024;
AND WHEREAS, the Government have noticed that the prize structure announced in the said scheme can be made more attractive;
2 AND WHEREAS, the Government, have decided to rescind the said notification;NOW, THEREFORE, the Government hereby rescind the notification issued under G.O.(P) No. 171/2024/Taxes dated 4th November, 2024 and published as S.R.O. No.1130/2024 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.3893 dated 5th December, 2024.

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.) The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-rule (3) of rule 3 of the Lotteries (Regulation) Rules, 2010 have issued notification in respect of the X'mas – New Year Bumper Lottery 2024-25 (BR 101) to be organized by the Government of Kerala, under G.O.(P) No. 171/2024/Taxes dated 4th November, 2024 and published as S.R.O. No.1130/2024 in the Kerala Gazette Extra Ordinary No.3893 dated 5th December, 2024. Subsequently the Director of State Lotteries submitted a proposal to make the scheme more attractive and requested to cancel the above said notification enabling the Government to issue a fresh notification. Government considered the proposal, and as no tickets had been sold based on the above said notification, it had been decided to rescind the same for enabling the Government to issue a fresh notification.
The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
